A list of databases that may be useful to alcohol researchers. Many of these US databases may be searched free of charge and are arranged by broad categories. A list of fee-based databases is also included.
Beckley Foundation Drug Policy Programme
The Beckley Foundation Drug Policy Programme (BFDPP) aims to promote objective debate on the effectiveness, direction and content of drug policies at national and international level. This non-governmental initiative brings together senior policymakers, leading academics and practitioners to assess the latest evidence of drug policy effectiveness in a spirit of objectivity and open debate. It does this through the production and dissemination of a series of policy analysis papers, occasional meetings and seminars, and engagement with policymakers in national governments and international agencies.

The Cochrane Library consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases, including The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.
Drug Policy Alliance Library
This is the catalog of the holdings of the Lindesmith Library in New York and the Drug Policy Alliance Online Library of full-text electronic documents, based on this Web site. The approximately 10,000 documents in the Library in New York include primarily books, government reports, non-governmental organization reports, articles, and videos concerned with illegal drugs and their use and abuse, plus drug policy and drug history.

Contains bibliographic citations and abstracts on prevention and sociological issues relating to alcohol and other drugs. This database is international in scope although strongest in American sources.

The United States National Library of Medicine publishes this huge biomedical database of more than nine million records. This bibliographic database covers journal articles dating back to 1966 from more than 3,800 biomedical journals and in a number of languages.
